The three chairs talk pt.1 from Capital City Bikers Church in Ottawa
We wrap up our Three Chairs series by looking at one of the most misunderstood areas of the spiritual journey. Because of that misunderstanding, many fear this area. We're talking about sharing our faith with others. Some argue that faith is a private matter, and like politics, should be "off-limits" as a conversation item. Others view witnessing as something extreme, done with huge signs and lots of condemnation.
But what does the Bible say about sharing our faith? Can we tell others about God's amazing grace without coming across like a total freak? Or is that what it means to be sitting in chair #3: looking like a freak?

At some point, everyone must look in a mirror and decide who they are. Some battle with self-worth issues their entire life. They struggle with how others perceive them, wondering how they compare with the people in their life as well as the people they see on TV.
Self-help gurus make a fortune selling books suggesting that the power is within us. For some, they believe it. They look inside of themselves to find beauty and worth.
But God calls us to see ourselves through his eyes. As his children. And yet, far too often, God's voice is drowned out because of all the other people speaking into our personal image.
This week we discover how to sit in the third chair when it comes to self-image.
The three chairs talk pt.2 from Capital City Bikers Church in Ottawa
Last week we learned that our spirituality can be defined by one of three chairs.
The challenge left for us was to spend some time determining what chair
we thought we were currently sitting on.
This week we begin looking at how the chairs translate into practical living.
And, we're starting out with a heavy one: Conflict.
How do you deal with opposition? When someone attacks
you personally, what do you do? If someone were to humiliate you,
or sue you, or place unfair demands on you, would you retaliate?
This week we examine how conflict looks from the perspective of each chair.
You just might be surprised at what you discover.

Most of us never think about chairs. Let's face it, they're just ...well, there.
And yet, chairs are a something we use all day long.
Office chairs, kitchen chairs, lazy-boys, bar stools, etc. are part of our every day life.
Heck, if we include other things we sit on (car & motorcycle seats for example),
we sit on an lot of things during the course of the day.
What if we could define our spirituality using chairs?
In this series, we're going to do just that.
We're going to look at the spiritual life through the eyes of three chairs.
The challenge for each of us is to figure out what chair
we are sitting in and what chair God wants us to move toward.
Only one chair offers us the experience that God intends for us to live out.
So, are you ready for a lesson in chairs?
